Detectives investigating kidnapping out of Monrovia

(Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department)

Authorities in Monrovia are investigating a kidnapping and domestic violence case and are hoping that community can help track down the suspect and victim.

The incident occurred on July 29 at about 8:15 a.m. in the 600 block of Vaquero Road in the city of Monrovia. Monrovia police officers discovered evidence of an assault at the scene and believe the victim, 31-year-old Amanda Kathleen Custer, was taken against her will in a 2017 gray Toyota Prius with the California license plate: 8AOR167, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department who is assisting Monrovia police with the investigation.

Custer is described as a White adult woman about 5-feet 8-inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Robert Anthony Camou. Police describe Camou as a White male adult 6-feet tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is considered dangerous.

The extent of Custer's injuries is unknown, the Sheriff's Department said. Blood was discovered at the scene, according to investigators who say police had handled several domestic violence calls between the suspect and victim in the past.

Investigators will remain on scene for several hours processing the crime scene. They say this is not a homicide investigation. Detectives don't know if a weapon was involved at this time but say Custer was loaded into the cargo hatch of the Prius.

The investigation is ongoing.
