LOS ANGELES - Park officials closed Eaton Canyon in Altadena after too many people went to the popular scenic spot over the weekend.
Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation officials said they were forced to shut it down due to “overwhelming crowds” that were not following COVID-19 public health requirements.

Just weeks ago, hiking trails and parks reopened in Los Angeles County with county staff monitoring each trail location to prevent overcrowding. Residents who wish to hike the county's trails are required to wear a cloth face covering and adhere to physical distancing.

Runyon Canyon was excluded and remains closed.
