LOS ANGELES - Mayor Garcetti made several announcements on Monday during his daily briefing on the COVID-19 response efforts.

Los Angeles County opens two new testing centers for COVID-19 starting on Wednesday with extended hours at: Northridge Fashion Center and Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Plaza. To sign up go to coronavirus.lacity.org/testing.
"The county can now test 18,500 people for the coronavirus each day and so far, 194,000 people have been tested countywide," Garcetti said.

Mayor Garcetti says he signed an order today to require nursing facilities to provide notices to their employees, residents, and contractors of when COVID-19 testing will be made available to them.
Garcetti also said, "We have signed a contract with a hotel in Downtown L.A. to deliver more than 460 new rooms for Project Roomkey, bringing our total to more than 3,000 hotel/motel rooms across the county. This is a major milestone in our efforts. Every room can help save a life."
As of Monday, more than 26,200 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in LA County, resulting in 1,256 deaths. Both figures are around half the statewide totals of 54,900 cases and 2,254 deaths reported.
