Firefighters move in quickly to contain Granada Hills fire
31 acres of brush burned within less than an hour in Granada Hills. Firefighters were able to quickly control the flames.
LOS ANGELES - Firefighters quickly gained control of a brush fire that sparked Friday afternoon in Granada Hills.
The Archer Fire burned 31 acres near Sesnon Boulevard and Meadowlark Avenue, near O'Melveny Park.
Around 11:40 a.m., crews on the scene reported that forward progress had been stopped.
Evacuations
The Los Angeles Fire Department quickly issued mandatory evacuation orders and warnings, however around 11:45 a.m., all evacuation orders were downgraded to warnings and all pre-existing warnings were lifted. Hours later, the remaining evacuation warnings were lifted.
Northbound Balboa Blvd. near Knollwood was temporarily closed.
