Six people got sick after smelling a mysterious odor at the Sherman Oaks Galleria. One person was hospitalized, but HAZMAT didn't find any signs of anything in the air.

One person was hospitalized and five others sickened at the Sherman Oaks Galleria Monday after complaining of watery eyes and other minor symptoms following an unknown odor in a building, according to authorities.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters responded to a report of an odor in the 15300 block of West Ventura Boulevard around 9:15 a.m.

Six people reported suffering watery eyes and a scratchy throat.

"Materials specialists are testing the atmosphere inside with air monitoring equipment," the LAFD said.

According to officials, initial readings are not showing any significant hazard.
