SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - A high school lacrosse coach in Simi Valley was arrested on Monday for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a 14-year-old student.
Bijan Nickroo, 32, was employed by the Simi Valley Unified School District at Simi Valley High School as an assistant football coach, lacrosse coach, and yard supervisor between June 2012 and “December 13, 2019,” police said in a press release Tuesday.
Nickroo was charged with oral copulation of a person under 16 years old and computer-facilitated luring and solicitation of a child. He is currently being held in police custody in lieu of $500,000 bail.
"Due to the legal constraints, which include the privacy protections due to our students and confidential personnel matters, the details of this investigation and the minor victims cannot be disclosed," the Simi Valley Unified School District said in a statement.
In addition to his alleged relations with the 14-year-old student, detectives determined that Nickroo set up a fake profile that he used to successfully solicit pornographic “selfies” from students, many of which police are still attempting to identify.
"These minors likely attend a variety of schools in the local area, but appear to be primarily from Simi Valley High School," Simi Valley Police said.
"We wish to reassure all of our parents and guardians that the school and district have and will continue to take every precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff at our schools," SVUSD wrote in a statement released Tuesday. "Every parent deserves to know that their children are safe and treated with the utmost concern when they are at our schools; this is the foundational principle for providing a good public education. We hold this value at the highest possible level and will continue our work to uphold it."
