Man tries to hide in bushes after police chase across Santa Monica
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - At least two people are in custody – but not before leading a police chase across Los Angeles County.
The countywide chase – which started in San Gabriel Valley and ended in Santa Monica – initially stemmed from the driver of a white SUV traveling recklessly.
After driving in what appeared to be circles between the Pacific Palisades, West Los Angeles and Santa Monica, three people took off from the SUV they were in after stopping the car a little after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18.
One of the two people who ended up getting detained on live TV was seen trying to hide inside the bushes. After deciding against hiding in the bushes, the man started walking casually around Santa Monica before the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department found him and handcuffed him on the spot.
The second suspect was arrested seconds after the first suspect got detained.
As of 10:15 p.m., officials did not specify what ended up happening to the third person who got out of the SUV involved in the car chase.
Officials did not say if any of the three people involved in the suspect car were linked to other crimes.
