LANCASTER, Calif. - Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man whose remains were found alongside a highway in Lancaster.
The victim's identity is not yet known but the Sheriff's Department describes the remains as those of an adult male suffering from possible trauma to the back of the head. They say the body appeared to have been at the location for several weeks.
On Sept. 30 at about 4 p.m., a passerby found the remains alongside the highway in the 3300 block of West Avenue I and immediately called authorities.
There is no known motive or suspect information at this time. The Coroner's Office is working to identify the victim and cause of death.
No other details are known at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
