Tiffany Huizar and Steven Campbell know first-hand the horrors of mass shootings.  Tiffany was shot 3 times during the Route 91 Harvest Festival Shooting in Las Vegas that left 58 innocent people dead. Steven barely escaped being killed during the shooting at the Borderline Bar in Thousand Oaks. That attack left 12 victims dead.  In this episode of Fox 11 News In Depth, we talk to Tiffany and Steven about their harrowing experiences. We also hear from Andrew Pollack, whose daughter Meadow died during the high school shooting in Parkland, FL.

Tiffany Huizar’s mother Diane joins the discussion. Diane reveals how she first heard that Tiffany had been wounded, and how she jumped into “Mom mode” in order to handle the situation as her daughter recovered from 3 gunshot wounds. We also talk to Tiffany and Steven about safety issues in America today.

We talk to gun owners who say they support the idea of background checks to buy assault weapons, and “red flag” notifications to prevent people with serious mental illnesses from buying guns.
