POMONA, Calif. (FOX 11) - Pomona police are investigating the death of a person whose body was found in a car that had been damaged by a fire.
Firefighters were sent to the 1400 block of South Park Avenue about 4 a.m. Friday on a report of a vehicle fire, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
"Pomona dispatch received calls of shots fired ... (and) additional callers reported a vehicle that was on fire in the street," Pomona police said in a statement.
Once the fire was extinguished a victim was located inside the vehicle, police say.
The identity of the victim is not known at this time, or whether the person had been shot.
Traffic was routed away from the area while an investigation was conducted.
