A man was arrested for abusing Cocaine. Not the drug, a young dog who - for some reason - was given that name. An investigation was opened after a disturbing Facebook video surfaced showing a man dangling a white pit bull puppy by its neck over a second-floor railing, according to the Orlando Police Department. The video has since been deleted, but that didn't stop authorities from tracking down Orlando resident Ransom May. May was arrested on Tuesday and faces animal cruelty charges. He remains in jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

"As soon as the incident was brought to our attention, Orlando Police investigated and arrested May," the department wrote in a Facebook post. "The video received a lot of attention on social media, so we wanted everyone to know that May is behind bars."

Cocaine, the dog, is now safe.

"We want to make sure the dog is ok, that's our first priority, and we want to find out what occurred for that situation to come about," said Diane Summers with Animal Services.

"I just heard the commotion, and I opened the door," explained Zenaida Yulfo, who lives downstairs from where the incident is said to have occurred, at a home off of Mcquigg Avenue in Orlando. "There was a lot of people outside laughing and taking it as a joke," but Yulfo said it wasn't funny. "I felt bad for that poor dog. He left, holding the dog with its skin."

Investigators said May was torturing the dog to get back at his girlfriend and that animal cruelty charges are pending.
