It was a wind-whipped Friday in SoCal

Rough day wind-wise which included falling trees, power outages and even a house fire. The fire was in the 11,970 block of Elnora Place. It was a dramatic scene as firefighters fought to keep an attic blaze from spreading. With the intense wind it certainly could have, but firefighters got the upper hand and kept the blaze from spreading to other homes.

In other parts of town the wind blew over trees which hit power lines and knocked out power to, at one point, as many as 23,000 customers of DWP. By 3pm, the utility had returned power to about 11,000 of those.
