Car crashes into high school field in Torrance

The driver of the blue Jeep crashed into the fence of a high school in Torrance and was seen on Ring camera speeding right before the crash.

The driver of a speeding vehicle crashed through the fence of a high school in Torrance as a soccer game was taking place on Saturday. 

It happened around 2 p.m. at Entradero Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard at West High School, according to police.

The driver plowed straight through the fence and briefly went airborne before ending up on the field.

Witnesses pulled the driver from the car and restrained him until authorities arrived. He was taken to a local hospital.

"Several people ran over, and they pulled the driver out of the car… they held him until the police came. He was acting a bit odd," one witness said.

No one else was injured.

It's not known yet if drugs or alcohol were involved. 

The investigation is ongoing.
