Juvenile left to die by hit-and-run driver in Eastvale, deputies say

A male juvenile was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday morning in Eastvale, deputies said.

Around 2:40 a.m., deputies responded to a report that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the area of 68th and Street Tarah Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The victim, a 15-year-old Eastvale resident, was struck by a vehicle in the roadway and pronounced deceased at the scene, his name has not been released pending family notification. The driver of the vehicle fled eastbound on 68th Street, leaving the boy to die, authorities said.

The suspect vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run was described by law enforcement as a dark-colored sedan.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area for several hours as authorities investigated.
