Keith David stars in OWN's megachurch drama series 'Greenleaf'
LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Keith David stars in the OWN drama series "Greenleaf," which follows a family with scandalous secrets and lies as well as their Memphis megachurch with predominantly African-American members.
"(The show) is 'Empire' meets 'Dynasty' meets 'Blue Bloods'," he said.
David, who plays Bishop James Greenleaf, stopped by Good Day LA to talk about the role.
"I was raised in church and I used to want to be a preacher at one point in my life, and now I get the great pleasure of living my dream," David said.
The actor has a never-ending list of credits to his name, as well as an Emmy Award-winning voice-over career. His work includes the narrator of several Ken Burns films such as "The War."
"Greenleaf" premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m. on OWN.
