2 killed in raging inferno on 405 Freeway
Two people were left dead after a two-car crash in LA's Palms neighborhood during the early morning hours of Friday, May 31.
LOS ANGELES - Two people were killed in a fiery crash on the northbound side of the 405 Freeway in West Los Angeles' Palms neighborhood early Friday morning, causing traffic to be shut down in the area for hours.
The California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the crash around 2:15 a.m.

2 left dead in fiery crash on 405 Freeway
Two people were killed in a fiery crash on the northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway early Friday morning.
CHP investigators said a Toyota Prius and a second vehicle erupted into flames after what appeared to be a rear-end accident on the northbound lanes of the freeway near the National Boulevard exit.
When first responders arrived, both vehicles were fully engulfed. A man and woman were pronounced dead on the scene by fire paramedics. A third person was also treated and did not require hospitalization.
A SigAlert was issued in the area between National and Venice boulevards and the LA County coroner arrived around 5 a.m. The SigAlert was lifted around 7 a.m.
It’s unclear if the two victims were in the same vehicle. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
