Suspect on run after LA Live shooting

Police are searching through security footage after a man was shot and killed inside Fixins Soul Kitchen in downtown Los Angeles. The suspect is still on the run.

A deadly shooting occurred in front of terrified patrons and employees at a soul food restaurant at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles near the Crypto.com Arena, officials said. 

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at Fixins Soul Kitchen on W. Olympic Boulevard, at the intersection of S. Figueroa Street, at Peacock Place at LA Live on Tuesday around 6:15 p.m. 

LAPD investigators said a man was dining inside the restaurant when the suspect walked in and shot him, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The gunman then took off from the scene in a white Honda that was possibly an SUV.

Man fatally shot inside Fixins Soul Kitchen

The search is on for a gunman after a man was shot and killed at an LA Live restaurant near the Crypto.com Arena.

The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital where he died, authorities said.

LAPD investigators said a woman who was dining separately was also taken to the hospital after she suffered a graze wound. She is expected to make a full recovery. 

A detailed description of the suspect was not available. The LAPD believes the suspect and the victim knew each other, adding there was no threat to the public. 

"Fixins Soul Kitchen is shocked and saddened by the incident that occurred this evening at our LA location.  Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones. We are directing all inquiries to the LAPD who is investigating and encourage anyone with information to contact law enforcement," the restaurant said in a statement released to FOX 11 on Tuesday evening.

LA Live shooting suspect on the run

One person was killed and a second person was injured at a soul food restaurant in downtown Los Angeles near the Crypto.com Arena.

The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.  

No concerts, NBA, or NHL games were scheduled for Tuesday night.
