LA Represents: Mayor Garcetti announces new program providing free legal aid for Angelenos affected by COVID-19

Mayor Eric Garcetti announced a new program called L.A. Represents on Tuesday during his daily briefing, in partnership with the City Attorney's Office, will provide free legal services to residents of Los Angeles who are suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new initiative, L.A. Represents brings together law firms to help domestic violence victims, renters, residents facing employment, consumer debt, and bankruptcy issues.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. They’re the mainstay of our main streets. They too often lack effective representation,” Garcetti said.

Angelenos can get free help online at Coronavirus.LACity.org/LARepresents.

Garcetti said the service is available to all L.A. residents, regardless of their immigration status.
