Horse falls into sinkhole

Crews in Lake View Terrace had to rescue a horse named "Lucky" who'd fallen into a sinkhole. Thankfully, lucky is okay.

Los Angeles firefighters safely rescued a horse after it became trapped in a backyard sinkhole for hours. 

LAFD ground and air units responded to a property at 10424 w Foothill Blvd. in Lake View Terrance Wedesnday afternoon. 

Crews say a 1,200-pound horse named ‘Lucky’ was trapped up to its chest/neck in what officials described as a backyard sinkhole with soft soil.

Lucky was hoisted to safety after being stuck for nearly three hours.

Horse rescued from sinkhole in Lake View Terrace

A 1,200-pound horse had to be pulled out of a sinkhole in Lake View Terrace. The rescue took several hours. The horse was okay.

Lucky is a 20-year-old Paso Fino female. 

Heavy rain hit LA County the past few days and firefighters speculate that the sinkhole may have been caused by an old septic system.
