(FOX 11) - Fabian Garcia was minding his own business as he rode his bicycle on Broadway at 61st Street. It was just before 7 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016.
Two Hispanic males challenged Fabian, alleging that the GMC Denali 6061 he was riding was stolen and belonged to one of them or someone they knew.
Witnesses described a fight that Fabian, 24, apparently won. Afterwards he rode away, south to Gage Avenue where there is an ARCO station.
Fabian then made a right turn, near the Harbor Freeway, onto Grand Avenue. The two men he had fought with reappeared as Fabian reached 62nd Street and Grand.
They shot him and left the disputed bicycle with his body.
There is a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of the killers.
For information about the murder of Fabian Garcia and the reward, call the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton Division Detectives at (323) 846-6556 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222.TIPS.
