LOS ANGELES - A 1-year-old girl who died at a bus stop near Los Angeles International Airport was identified as Yayra Estelle Rutherford by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner Tuesday.
Rutherford's body was found on a bus bench when the Los Angeles Police Department responded to Sepulveda Blvd. and West Century Blvd. around 10 a.m. Friday.
Authorities believed the 1-year-old girl may have suffered a medical emergency. No foul play was suspected.
The mother reportedly told officials that her daughter was ill. A full autopsy is being conducted.

According to reports from KFI, the infant's mother and sibling were experiencing homelessness. The older sibling, a 2-year-old boy, was placed in the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the mother was interviewed by detectives and later released.
According to reports, the family had slept in the airport on at least one occasion.
The case is being investigated by LAPD's abused child unit, which works cases under the juvenile division.
Police and firefighters blocked off lanes of traffic to both pedestrians and cars at Century Blvd. The location is outside of LAX, near the entrance of the airport.
