2 teens killed in 710 Fwy crash in Long Beach

Authorities said the crash happened on the northbound side of the 710 Freeway when a black Black Hyundai Sonata crashed into the guardrail and burst into flames. One other person was injured in the crash.

Five people, including two 15-year-olds, were killed, and one person was hospitalized with serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash on the 710 Freeway in Long Beach Monday morning, officials said.

Authorities said the crash happened around 4:15 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway when a black Hyundai Sonata hit the edge of a guardrail and burst into flames.

Five people were pronounced dead at the scene and a sixth person was taken to the hospital, the California Highway Patrol said. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office confirmed two of the victims killed in the crash were 15-year-old George Dobbs and 15-year-old Ariahh Slemaker, both of Long Beach.

All northbound lanes were closed for hours in the area of the crash and reopened by 8:30 a.m.

The names of the other victims have not yet been released and no further information was available.
