Authorities said a man eventually surrendered after he refused to come down from a power pole in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley for at least a half hour.
SkyFOX was over the scene in Lake View Terrace on Tuesday evening, as the suspect stood on the power pole in the 12200 block of West Van Nuys Boulevard. Police and firefighters tried to talk the man into coming down safely but eventually gave up, decided to leave the man alone and drove off from the scene a little before 6:15 p.m.
In an update, an official with the Los Angeles Police Department said the man came down on his own around 7:30 p.m. without incident.
It's unclear what prompted the guy to climb up the power pole.
