Mandy Harvey performs live on Good Day LA + backstage interview
LOS ANGELES - Mandy Harvey performed Friday on Good Day LA as part of our Mercury Insurance Concert Series.
Harvey's life tells an inspirational story of perseverance despite what life throws at you. The American singer-songwriter who happens to be deaf appeared on Season 12 of "America’s Got Talent." The artist received a "Golden Buzzer" on night one from judge Simon Cowell, propelling her to the finals and her amazing finish with over 250 million Facebook and YouTube views.
Harvey lost her residual hearing by age nineteen due to a neurological connective tissue disorder, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and has since been profoundly deaf. She pursued several career options before she chose to follow her heart back to music in 2008.
Though her hearing loss is profound, her timing, pitch and passion are perfect.
Her story and spirit have helped spread her message of dedication and a heartfelt effort to change lives through music on a national scale. She furthers that effort through her work on behalf of others with disabilities.
Harvey is living proof that no disability should hold anyone back from following and achieving their dreams.
After her performance, we met up with Harvey for a backstage interview, check it out here:
