Midday Sunday: New directions for veterans

Today's edition of Midday Sunday looks at the housing crisis for U.S. military veterans along with other problems they face.

The greatest number of homeless veterans in the United States are concentrated in the greater Los Angeles area.

This week, the organization "New Directions for Veterans" opened a brand new apartment complex in Glendale, designed to give low-income veterans a place to live with dignity.

NDV was founded by two Vietnam veterans who did not want anyone else to go through the difficult experiences they did when they returned home.

Today's guests are Ted Howells, a Vietnam veteran and the CEO of NDV, Rudy Crimaldo, an Afganistan veteran and chairman of the NDV board of directors along with Larry Conedy and Keith Gren who are veterans and graduates of the NDV program.

The website for New Directors for Veterans is www.newdirectionsinc.org.
