Military helicopter makes emergency landing at Camp Pendleton, bursts into flames
OCEANSIDE, Calif. - A military helicopter had to make an emergency landing at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County Friday night.
The California Highway Patrol first reported the incident just before 5 p.m. Friday. The helicopter landed on the Marine Corps base within sight of the 5 Freeway in Oceanside.
Shortly after the emergency landing, the helicopter caught fire.

The CHP posted images of the scene showing the wreckage of the helicopter engulfed in flames, with smoke pouring up into the sky.
In the post the CHP said that Camp Pendleton confirmed everyone on board the helicopter was able to get away safely before the helicopter caught fire.
