Transformer explodes in Torrance

Thousands are without power Tuesday evening after a transformer exploded.

TORRANCE, Calif. - Thousands in Torrance are left in the dark as crews work to restore power in the area.

According to Southern California Edison, more than 5,000 customers in the Torrance area are without power Tuesday evening. Some in the area had been without power since 12:30 p.m.

Officials did not say when residents in the area are expected to have power back in their homes/businesses.
