Fundraiser for cyclist shot dead in Lancaster

Two people were arrested for the shooting death of 37-year-old Henry Gonzalez on July 4 in Lancaster. On Saturday, family and friends raised money in his honor.

A motorcyclist was shot to death in a suspected road rage incident in Lancaster Tuesday, according to authorities, and two people have since been arrested.

The shooting happened on the northbound lanes of the 14 Freeway at the Avenue L off-ramp just before 3 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. 

CHP officers were responding to a reported traffic collision when they found the body of 37-year-old Henry Gonzalez at the scene, where he was pronounced dead. 

Sun Valley residents Isabel Cortez, 25, and Jesse Cupido, 29 were arrested Friday on suspicion of murder, CHP Officer April Elliott said. The CHP gave no details on what led up to the arrests.
