Nev Schulman, host of MTV's "Catfish: The TV Show," said he's recovering from a bike accident.

The host posted on Instagram that he was on his way to pick up his son from school but never made it there, after he collided with a truck.

"And then I guess the pavement," he posted. "I was alone and unconscious. And then conscious."

Schulman posted several pictures of him in the hospital. He said that he broke his neck but is not paralyzed.

"I’m lucky to be here, alive, standing and hugging my family, projected to make a full recovery," he continued. "And I’m really starting to understand the meaning of gratitude. For the big and little things before the accident, and now everything moving forward."

"Catfish" originally aired on Nov. 12, 2012, and is one of MTV’s longest-running programs. The show is based on the premise of people writing to Nev and his co-host to seek help in determining if they are being "catfished," which is slang for being on the receiving end of someone using a fake identity online. This is achieved via a combination of background checks, investigations and on-camera confrontations between the Catfish team and the "catfisher."
