NFL star DeSean Jackson to auction off pre-game cleats to honor Nipsey Hussle

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver and Los Angeles native DeSean Jackson announced he plans to auction off his pre-game cleats dedicated to Nipsey Hussle this NFL season. 

In an Instagram post, Jackson added all proceeds from the auction sale with go to Hussle's kids, Kross and Emani.

Jackson and Hussle both grew up in South Los Angeles. Hussle grew up in Crenshaw and Jackson grew up in neighboring Leimert Park. Upon Hussle's death, Jackson shared the two had plans to connect to give back to their community. to make "something out of our lives and give back to our people in our hood." 

The football star also frequently posts pictures of Hussle on his Instagram page to honor the slain rapper citing his death is one he will never get over. 

Rapper Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedon, was shot and killed outside his store The Marathon Clothing on March 31. He would have turned 34 on August 15.

Eric Holder, 29, was indicted by a grand jury for his murder in May.

Hussle was known for his contributions to the South L.A. community including multiple stores and Vector90, a technology center dedicated to developing underrepresented entrepreneurs. FOX 11 profiled the rapper late last year for the positive change he was making in the community. 

With an impact so large, Hussle's memorial was held at Staples Center and more than 50 murals of Hussle appeared across L.A. 

Hussle survived by fiancée, actress Lauren London and kids Kross, 3, and Emani, 10.
