At least one person was taken into custody following an officer-involved shooting in North Hollywood Monday afternoon.

Around 10 a.m., officers were serving a search warrant for illegal cannabis cultivation at a home in the 11500 block of Gilmore Street, near Victory Boulevard and Beck Avenue.

After giving verbal commands to exit the house, officers breached a rear gate and entered the yard. They were then approached by the suspect, 70-year-old Arsen Zalyan, who pointed a rifle-type weapon in their direction. An officer-involved shooting then occurred.

According to LAPD, Zalyan was not struck by gunfire and immediately retreated back toward the house.
