Family dog attacks 3 people at Southern California home, officials say
NORWALK, Calif. - Three people were recovering after they were attacked by their family dog in their Norwalk home, Southern California authorities said.
Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they were called to a home in the 14100 block of Crossdale Avenue, located near the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and Studebaker Road, on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 15. When deputies arrived at the home, they found a man with serious injuries to his face, along with hand wounds.
The family dog also bit a second man and woman, sheriff officials said. The dog's breed wasn't specified, but was said to be a bulldog or pit bull.
All three victims were expected to survive.
Deputies added one of the family members had to stab the dog multiple times to get the dog off. The dog was taken away and later died.
The family's teenage son was at home during the attack but was not hurt.
