The city of Long Beach honors the late Jenni Rivera. The Latin singing sensation was killed in a 2012 plane crash in Mexico. Matt Johnson is live in Long Beach with more.

The playground is located near Long Beach City College inside Jenni Rivera Memorial Park.

The installation was funded though $250,000.00 from Measure A, $10,000.00 City of Long Beach and $6,500.00 private funds.

Her sister Rosa Rivera says her late sister would be humbled by the dedication.

"She would probably be surprised that the city loved her this much and we are really happy we can give back."

City officials hope to have the children's playground construction complete in 60 days.
