One person fatally shot, another wounded at house party in Sylmar

(FOX 11/CNS) - Two men were shot at a late night party in Sylmar, and one of the men died later on Sunday at a hospital.

The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. in the 14500 block of Tyler Avenue, where four gunmen walked up to the shooting victims and fired an unknown number of shots, said Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD's Media Relations Section.

Some media accounts reported that the shooting occurred at a party promoted by social media.

But the police spokesman could not confirm that.

Paramedics rushed both shooting victims to an area hospital, where one was died from his injuries and the other was treated and released, he said.
