One person killed in 118 Freeway crash in Chatsworth
CHATSWORTH, Calif. (FOX 11) - It was around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday when police said a man and a woman in a blue pickup truck suddenly stopped in the HOV lane of the westbound 118 Freeway.
Investigators believe their truck had suddenly stopped. The male driver got out and was looking under the hood when suddenly a silver Lexus, also driving in the HOV lane, slammed straight into the truck and sending the man flying over the center divider.
The man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the woman believed to be his wife was rushed to the hospital along with two people who had been inside the Lexus, as well as the driver of the motorcycle.
As traffic backed up for miles on both sides of the 118, investigators with the California Highway Patrol tried to figure out exactly what caused the blue truck stop in the fast lane.
