Palisades Fire: FOX 11 reporter grabs garden hose to try to put out flames in Pacific Palisades
LOS ANGELES - The Palisades Fire continued to spread Tuesday evening, burning more than 1,200 acres in just a few hours.
The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. in the area of Piedra Morada and Monte Hermoso drives. The flames are being propelled by a "life-threatening" and "destructive" windstorm.
In just hours, more than 30,000 people were evacuated from the area. Now, according to officials, more than 13,000 structures are threatened by the flames.

FOX 11's Matthew Seedorff jumped into action Tuesday afternoon to help slow the flames in one neighborhood, grabbing a garden hose he found along Shadow Moutain Drive. He tried to put out some of the flames on the street and near one of the homes.

Shortly after that, however, the home went up in flames.
"Horrible to see," Seedorff shared on X. "This is the home we just tried saving with a garden hose. Hoping firefighters can get this to slow down."
This home was one of at least seven in the area that had been destroyed by flames on Tuesday.
