TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Some Floridians were outraged to find out accused mass-murderer Nikolas Cruz was registered to vote.
Andrew Pollack's daughter, Meadow, was among the 17 students and staff that were murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
"I was as angry as the day just about when I found out she was murdered that this kid, they went in and registered him," Pollack.
Unbelievably, records show just five months after the massacre, Cruz was registered vote. "I'm sick to my stomach," Pollack Tweeted.
"This kid's in solitary confinement 23 hours a day, they had to go in there and help this kid register, that's unethical - who would such a thing," Pollack said. "That's how unethical these liberals are in Broward County," he said.
A spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff's office sent us a statement, saying in part: "Inmates being registered to vote is nothing new…Taking away the voting rights of an eligible person awaiting trial is illegal. BSO serves as a mail courier between the inmates and the Supervisor of Elections."
Like or it not, that's Florida law.
"They have the right to vote, they haven't lost the right to vote, they have not been adjudicated guilty of a felony," said Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer.
It is unclear if Cruz actually did vote or not. He was registered as a Republican.
