Cops pursue driver in suspected stolen van
The suspect was taken into custody.
LOS ANGELES - A driver in a stolen box truck was taken into custody Thursday after leading police on a pursuit in the San Pedro area, according to authorities.
The pursuit started around 8:30 a.m. near 1300 South Pacific Avenue and ended just after 9 a.m. when the driver pulled into a beach parking lot on West 25th Street near Western Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man ditched the truck and tried to run away, but he was taken into custody and booked for stolen vehicle charges, officials said.
