Police chase ends after SUV crashes into light pole, catches fire

LOS ANGELES (CNS / FOX 11) - A driver being chased by authorities was arrested Tuesday after the SUV crashed into a light pole and burst into flames in the Hancock Park area, police said.

The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. at Beverly Boulevard and Gower Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

It was not immediately known if the motorist was injured, or why the vehicle -- reportedly a new black Range Rover -- was being pursued.
