Chase suspect runs into Sylmar yard

A police chase ended with a suspects running into a Sylmar back yard, sending residents running. Two people are in custody.

One suspect remains outstanding after a high-speed pursuit that began in the Antelope Valley on Thursday and ended in a Sylmar neighborhood.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers had initially tried to stop the driver in a silver Ford Fusion for speeding in the Palmdale area.

Pursuit suspects hide after ditching vehicle: FULL PURSUIT

Three suspects ditched their vehicle following a high-speed pursuit in the Antelope Valley, ducking into the yards of residents in a Sylmar neighborhood.

The driver did not stop, leading authorities on a dangerous pursuit that reached speeds of over 100 mph on the 138 Freeway near 121st in Palmdale. The suspect then merged onto the 14 Freeway in Newhall, weaving in and out of traffic and at times driving on the shoulder.

By 9:22 a.m., the suspect had reached the 5 Freeway near the Granada Hills area, continuing to exceed speeds of 115-120 mph. Around three CHP units were seen trailing the suspect.

High-speed chase comes to an end in Sylmar

A police chase that started in the Palmdale area came to an end in Sylmar Thursday morning.

Just before 9:30 a.m., the driver pulled over into a residential area near El Cajon Street and El Dorado Avenue in Sylmar, where multiple suspects ditched the car and ran in opposite directions. One suspect was seen jumping fences into backyards, encountering a pack of dogs that chased him off into another yard.

Pursuit suspect nearly encounters large dogs

A pursuit suspect who made a run for it made quite the discovery in Sylmar Thursday morning.

During the pursuit, CHP officers recovered a gun, one of several items thrown from the car by the suspects. As of 10 a.m., authorities had taken two suspects into custody.

Authorities arrest pursuit suspect

The driver who led authorities on a police chase from Palmdale to Sylmar Thursday is in custody. The search continues for at least one other suspect.

Residents in the area were advised to lock all doors and windows as the search continued for the outstanding suspect.
