Chase suspect takes off after brief standoff

A driver in an allegedly stolen car seemed to have given up after a lengthy chase through San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties, before taking off again.

When the driver returned to the San Gabriel Valley, they stopped for a few minutes as CHP began to surround the vehicle. But the driver took off again before authorities could make an arrest.

After a little over an hour into the pursuit, the driver pulled over again in the San Gabriel Valley – this time due to an issue with at least one of the car's driver's side tires.

At this point, the suspect surrendered to police and willingly stepped out of their vehicle.
