Police: Man sends alleged tweet before killing roommate

Twenty-one-year-old Zachary Penton is facing second-degree murder charges, but neighbors say what happened was not exactly a surprise.

We spoke to a neighbor who didn't want to be seen on camera, but she said she had a feeling something bad would happen in this house and it did yesterday morning.

Police say Penton called 9-1-1 and said he's just killed his roommate, 41-year-old Daniel Garofalo.

"Well, this is a nice neighborhood, but one bad seed in the neighborhood and everyone knew that already," a neighbor said.

This neighbor said Penton had only been there a couple of months, but Garafalo was well known to neighbors. They avoided him.

"There were lots of parties, always stuff going on, the guy seemed nice, but he was very creepy," a neighbor said. "He told me one time the FBI is watching him, they are screening him and stuff. The guy is crazy, literally crazy, there are fights there."

Then, this tweet from an account last Friday that police believe belonged to Zachary Penton.

"It is sad somebody died, but the neighborhood will be safer now," a neighbor said.

Penton is being held on a $750,000 bond.
