Outage temporarily knocks out power to 16,000 SCE customers in Santa Monica
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - More than 16,000 Southern California Edison customers temporarily lost power in Santa Monica Tuesday due to an outage that remains under investigation.
According to SCE's website, the outage began at about 6 a.m., affecting thousands of customers in the area. At one point, 16,682 customers were without power, although the number quickly began falling as crews responded to the scene.
Edison spokesman David Song said power was restored to all customers by 9:42 a.m.
He said the cause of the outage was still unclear, but crews were working to determine what triggered the power loss.
