RECIPE: How to make panettone French toast
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - Chef Mirko Paderno, the executive chef at Estrella restaurant, joined us on Good Day LA to make panettone French toast! Estrella is one of Lance Bass' favorite brunch spots and he even helped the chef create the brunch menu.
Simple Panettone French Toast Batter Recipe:
12 eggs
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Crack the eggs into a bowl and add the vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir for two minutes by hand.
Start with toasted panettone.
Dip the panettone in the batter and let it soak in the batter for 30 seconds for each piece.
On medium high, melt butter into a frying pan.
Put the panettone into the pan and cook for approximately 2 minutes on each side or until the outside is a golden and crispy.
Then garnish with Nutella, homemade berry jam, maple syrup, or whip cream. Finish with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and enjoy!
