Rescue team airlifts injured hiker who fell 40 feet from Bailey Canyon
SIERRA MADRE, Calif. - A Los Angeles County sheriff's helicopter airlifted an injured hiker to safety in Bailey Canyon Wilderness Park in Sierra
Madre, authorities said.
The female hiker was reported missing around 2:50 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Carter Avenue, fire officials said.
The sheriff's department posted video on Twitter of a tactical medic being lowered into the canyon to tend to the hiker, who had fallen 40 feet. She was airlifted to safety and taken to a hospital.
It was unclear what injuries she suffered.
