Pasadena officials close Rose Bowl Loop after complaints
Pasadena officials on Sunday announced that the Rose Bowl Loop is now closed to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
PASADENA, Calif. - The city of Pasadena has decided to close its 3.1-mile Rose Bowl Loop Trail to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
The loop and its parking lots were closed to recreational users on Sunday. By Monday, all pickleball and tennis courts at city parks were also closed to the public.
Electronic signs that once directed visitors at the loop to avoid crowds and practice social distancing now request visitors head home.

The city advised residents to continue to follow social distancing guidelines put in place by state government officials that require individuals to stay at least six feet away from others whenever possible.

Social distancing is not only about preventing the illness itself, but rather, slowing the rate at which people get sick.
The decision to close the loop was due to overcrowding the past two weekends. City officials decided to mirror the similar closures put into place across Los Angeles County.
