SANTA ANA, Calif. — A Santa Ana caretaker faces decades in prison after being charged with allegedly raping the nonverbal, bedridden woman he was taking care of.
What we know:
The Orange County District Attorney's office charged Phuong Hoang Khong with rape on Friday. He's accused of raping a 93-year-old bedridden, nonverbal woman he was hired to care for.
Khong served as the woman's caretaker three days a week, the OC DA's office said.
On the morning of Jan. 6, Khong allegedly covered the woman's eyes with a medical mask before taking off her diaper and tying her to the bed with medical restraints before assaulting her.
Khong turned himself into the Orange Police Department on Feb. 3, after the woman's family threatened to turn him in, the DA's office said.
Khong faces four felony charges, including rape by force, sexual penetration by a foreign object by force, forcible oral copulation and elder abuse.

What they're saying:
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer called the attack a "tragic example that sexual predators do not age out of their sadistic deviances, and we must never stop fighting to protect the defenseless from the predators who wish to prey on them for their sick and twisted sexual gratification."
What's next:
Khong faces 75 years to life plus four years in prison if he's convicted on all counts.
