Man fatally stabbed at Santa Ana McDonald's parking lot
SANTA ANA, Calif. - A man has been arrested for fatally stabbing another man at a McDonald's parking lot in Santa Ana.
According to police, on Sunday, January 5, around 3:04 p.m., officers with the Santa Ana Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to a McDonald's restaurant at 3810 S. Bristol Street for reports of a stabbing.
Emergency crews located a 43-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his upper torso and transported him to a hospital where he died from his injuries. The victim was identified as Noah William Ewing, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Coroner's Department.
During the investigation, officers learned that a woman had also been assaulted by a man in the same shopping center as the McDonald’s.
The woman reported being punched multiple times in an unprovoked attack by the unknown suspect.
Officers were able to quickly detain the assault suspect near the scene.
Officers then learned the suspect involved in the assault also approached and stabbed Ewing to death.

Police said the two victims were unrelated.
The suspect was identified as 43-year-old Justin Anthony Carlin of Santa Ana.
Carlin was arrested and booked at the Santa Ana Jail for murder, as well as additional charges related to the separate assault.
