Search for missing model continues after boyfriend kills himself

Friends of Adea Shabani tell FOX11's Gigi Graciette they have lost hope. They believe the aspiring actress is dead.

This comes after sources say her boyfriend, a person of interest in her disappearance, committed suicide.

They say police tried pulling over Shabani's boyfriend, Thursday night.

He lead them on a pursuit, dodging spike strips, even stopping to let a passenger out before continuing on.

He eventually stopped in the city of Corona, and shot himself in the head.

"The friends everybody misses Adea, they all want her to just kinda show up and walk through her building doors," said friend Angel Allaf.

Friends and family shocked learning details, but hoping to find answers

The 25-year-old from MacEdonia has been missing for four weeks.

She was last seen leaving her Hollywood apartment with luggage and her boyfriend.

She was never seen or heard from again.

"She's a social media maniac and I can say she's always on social media so always online or posting something on her WhatsApp, there's no nothing," said Allaf.

Friends believe her boyfriend was planning on killing her during her trip. Now police are searching for her body between between Hollywood and Sacramento.

"We've had some leads in Sacramento, possibly that she could have been somewhere around there. The police have been investigating the area," said Allaf.

Shabani's family is also very involved with the search.

Her mother flew in from Europe and offered a $25,000 reward for information.

"She has so much light in her. She's very very goal oriented. She's always reaching for the stars. She doesn't believe there's anything she can't reach," said Allaf.

Police can confirm that family and friends believe an aspiring 25-year-old actress is dead. Macedonia Adea Shabani was last seen on Friday, February 23rd near the 1700 block of Wilcox Avenue, between Hollywood Boulevard and Franklin Avenue, not far from her home.

The man she was romantically involved with, also an actor, is also dead. Police say he killed himself after a pursuit on the Riverside Freeway (91) that ended in Pomona Thursday night.

Shabani's family has not been able to speak out publicly as police continued to investigate. Her family says she was going away with her boyfriend with luggage, as they were planning to spend some romantic days together.

Shabani was in Los Angeles for less than two years.

Police believe the boyfriend killed her somewhere between Hollywood and Sacramento, and that someone knows something about this case and are hoping that person comes forward.

The suspect who killed himself during the police pursuit apparently had a passenger in the car. He made a brief stop to let the passenger out of the car, then he continued the pursuit before stopping the allegedly stolen car and shooting himself in the head.
