IRVINE, Calif. - Irvine police are investigating a homicide that occurred at a home in a gated community on Bayleaf Lane on Monday.
Police responded to a shooting at about 5:45 a.m. and discovered a man suffering from non-life threatening injuries who told police there was a second male victim inside the home. Officers found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Both men were taken to the hospital but the gunshot victim died from his injuries. Neither of the two victims has been identified.
Investigators believe two male suspects met the victims at the home but left the area in a vehicle before police arrived. Now, they're hoping someone recognizes the suspects from security video showing their faces.
Homicide detectives are calling this an "isolated incident" saying the community is not in danger.
The reason for the meeting and the motive for the shooting are still under investigation.
